Youtube-dl is a wonderful piece of software! It lets you download video and audio contents from a source (mostly but not just limited to youtube). To either stream the raw contents directly or download it.
Most of the projects
developement has been done on
Github
but it has recently been taken down by the DMCA because of copyright claims. I
don't want this initiative to go anywhere and I want the internet to always
have a backup of it. That's why I am now hosting a version of it on this very
website. You can clone the repo with git clone
git://git.chausse.xyz/youtube-dl I am currently keeping it up to date
with l1ving's repository on Github which hasn't been shutdown. I
will keep an eye out for other upstream repositories if this one get's taken
down.
